Club laces up for Munster and Strictly double header
DROMTARIFFE GAA Club promise a night to remember in their staging of a ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ fundraising event in the Charleville Park Hotel on this Saturday night.
Saturday promises to be pretty hectic for all involved in the club as, earlier in the afternoon, Dromtariffe represent Cork in the Munster Junior A Football Championship in a quarter final meeting against Kildimo/Pallaskenry from Limerick in Mallow.
Fingers are crossed that a number of players involved will come through unscathed ahead of the dance-off.
Despite a hectic schedule over recent weeks, many hours of preparations have sharpened up dance routines amongst associates from Dromtariffe GAA and Dromtariffe Ladies Football Clubs in addition to familiar faces from Newmarket, Millstreet, Ballydaly, Cullen, Ballyhass and Lismire.
Players have been lacing up their dancing shoes for the last six to eight weeks at the parish hall with a lot of the players travelling long distances from college and their place to work to make the training sessions.
The dance pairings for the hosting are Chloe Collins/Conor O’Callaghan, Erika O’Connell/ Daniel Desmond, Lisa Howard/Michael Healy, Claire Field/Shane McSweeney, Gemma Lenihan/ Daniel O’Keeffe, Lisa Crowley/Hugh O’Keeffe, Chantel Cleary/Darragh Crowley, Anna O’Shea/ Gearóid Murphy, Aileen Cotter/Finbarr O’Connor, Deirdre Murphy/Martin Cullinane, Jenny Morris/Kieran Flynn, Áine Collins/Joe Guerin, Emer Murphy/Niall O’Connor, Nora O’Keeffe/ John Linehan, Eileen Buckley/Michael Byrnes.
Funds raised will go towards a major development of the club’s complex at Rathcoole.
