Club laces up for Mun­ster and Strictly dou­ble header

DROMTARIFFE GAA Club prom­ise a night to re­mem­ber in their stag­ing of a ‘Strictly Come Danc­ing’ fundrais­ing event in the Charleville Park Ho­tel on this Satur­day night.

Satur­day prom­ises to be pretty hec­tic for all in­volved in the club as, ear­lier in the af­ter­noon, Dromtariffe rep­re­sent Cork in the Mun­ster Ju­nior A Foot­ball Cham­pi­onship in a quar­ter fi­nal meet­ing against Kildimo/Pal­laskenry from Lim­er­ick in Mal­low.

Fin­gers are crossed that a num­ber of play­ers in­volved will come through un­scathed ahead of the dance-off.

De­spite a hec­tic sched­ule over re­cent weeks, many hours of prepa­ra­tions have sharp­ened up dance rou­tines amongst as­so­ci­ates from Dromtariffe GAA and Dromtariffe Ladies Foot­ball Clubs in ad­di­tion to fa­mil­iar faces from New­mar­ket, Mill­street, Bal­ly­daly, Cullen, Bal­ly­hass and Lis­mire.

Play­ers have been lac­ing up their danc­ing shoes for the last six to eight weeks at the parish hall with a lot of the play­ers trav­el­ling long dis­tances from col­lege and their place to work to make the train­ing ses­sions.

The dance pair­ings for the host­ing are Chloe Collins/Conor O’Cal­laghan, Erika O’Con­nell/ Daniel Des­mond, Lisa Howard/Michael Healy, Claire Field/Shane McSweeney, Gemma Leni­han/ Daniel O’Ke­effe, Lisa Crow­ley/Hugh O’Ke­effe, Chantel Cleary/Dar­ragh Crow­ley, Anna O’Shea/ Gearóid Mur­phy, Aileen Cotter/Fin­barr O’Con­nor, Deirdre Mur­phy/Martin Cul­li­nane, Jenny Mor­ris/Kieran Flynn, Áine Collins/Joe Guerin, Emer Mur­phy/Niall O’Con­nor, Nora O’Ke­effe/ John Line­han, Eileen Buck­ley/Michael Byrnes.

Funds raised will go to­wards a ma­jor de­vel­op­ment of the club’s com­plex at Rath­coole.
