Momentous night for Mitchelstown as GAA ground floodlights spark into life
MITCHELSTOWN GAA club turned on their floodlights at the Limerick Road Grounds on Saturday evening.
There was a very large attendance that included Kevin O’Keeffe TD; and Councillors Fr O’Flynn, Deirdre O’Brien and Kay Dawson. The North Cork Board was represented by Chairman Barry Aherne. Club Chairman Michael Price carried out the turning on of the lights.
There were a number of football blitzes for Under-6s, -7s, -8s -10s, -12s and Under-14s, as well as a Ladies competition.
A presentation was made to Mark Keane on the occasion of his departure on Monday.
He is going to Australia, where he will be playing Australian Rules football for the coming years.
