“The key to all these services is that they have huge community support and it’s created a valuable service to support families,” says Tina.

THE ONLY WAY IS UP

As Cherryblossoms has grown and grown, Tina now has plans to change to a limited company in the near future. Longer-term, they would love to develop a purpose built facility, along with growing and improving current services.

Interestingly, being nominated for and IRD Duhallow business award in 2015 played a part in Cherryblossoms’ success. “During my interview for the business awards in 2015, I was asked to envisage where Cherryblossoms would develop and grow. Our aim was to introduce a second session (evening time), unfortunately this was unsuccessful and rather that give up we forged forward and developed the service in a different way, diversifying instead,” she says.

GREAT STAFF ARE KEY

Tina says the key to high quality is excellent, dedicated, kind, caring and highly motivated staff, “and I am so delighted to say that I have amazing staff ”.

Cherryblossoms’ ethos is a child-centred emergent curriculum with play central to children’s learning. “The families that avail of our service can see the benefits to their children’s confidence and independence skills,” says Tina.
