FAMILY BINGO

Banteer Ladies Football Club are hosting their annual family Bingo on this Sunday November 18th at 3pm in Banteer Community Center.. This is a great afternoon for all the family with lots of prizes to be won. There will also be a raffle on the day and the shop will also be open.. This is our main fundraiser for the year and your support would be very much appreciate­d by all involved in the club. GLEN THEATRE DRAMA

This Fri and Sun 18th The Glen Theatre Drama group present John B. Keane’s most popular play, Sive . Directed by Tadgh O Keefee and Mary Ellis

Sive is set against the harsh poverty and difficult times of 1950s Ireland Sive tells the story of a young and beautiful orphan who lives with her uncle Mike, his wife Mena and his mother Nanna . While Nanna dotes on her orphaned granddaugh­ter, Sive, Mena plots with the local matchmaker Thomasheen Séan Rua to marry the young girl off to an old local farmer Séan Dóta for the promise of land and a chance to escape from poverty. Sive has become an Irish classic and one of the nation’s best loved plays. It is a story about a battle of generation­s, exploitati­on, greed, love and tragedy all told with John B’s lyrical dialogue and great Irish humour.

Scór na nÓg will be held on Friday November 16th at Edel Quinn hall Kanturk .Start time 7:30. Open to all under 17 years. competitio­ns include Solo Singing, Recitation, Storytelli­ng, Ballad Group, Novelty Act, Instrument­al Music, Set Dancing and Table Quiz. RURAL BUS SERVICE

A Local Rural door to door bus service runs each Sunday. The pilot project will run until Dec 2018 and depending on take up it may continue into 2019.The service will arrive in Banteer for 7pm Sunday evening mass.

Service will go via Nadd Lyre Moll Carthys Bridge Rathcoole Sandpit House Dromagh and Banteer and will also go off the main roads and will collect / drop people at their homes. Glen Theatre is also on the route for people to go to Music or Drama nights from September onwards. For any queries, contact Local Link Cork on 025–51454.

FUTSAL SOCCER

Banteer National School took part in the FAI Schools Futsal Soccer held in Whitechurc­h recently. The team from 4th class did very well winning 3 out of the 4 matches. The team played brilliantl­y and it was a very enjoyable day.
