U16’s complete league double

HAVING already captured the Rebel Og Central Prem2 hurling league six days earlier, Wolfe Tones (Kanturk) captured the football equivalent when getting the better of Gabriel Rangers in the final played at Cloughduv on Saturday last, 1st December.

While losing out to the same opposition at the semi-final stage of the championship a few short months ago, the Kanturk lads set out to get a measure of atonement. At the interval our lads were only one point in arrears, 1-04 to 0-08, and with confidence growing were set for a titanic second half struggle.

The first half Kanturk goal proved to be the deciding factor in the contest as our lads went onto record a 1-14 to 0-15 victory and complete a rebel Og Central Premier two league double.
