Make Macroom your hub for Christmas

-

SITUATED at the heart of the Lee Valley with a famous market, famously hospitable people and steeped in history, Macroom has established itself over many years as a real social hub for its surrounding area.

With the prospect of the much needed bypass beginning soon, added to its advantageous position as one of Cork’s gateway towns for Kerry and West Cork, Macroom has the potential to establish itself as an even more attractive destination for tourists and passing trade by building on the fantastic work already being done by locals.

The Macroom area has tremendous potential with for example a multitude of traditional, innovative and artisanal businesses doing well in the area, especially in the food and drink industry. With success comes opportunity for even more and I am backing for big things to come in the years ahead.

Supporting local businesses is so important. To celebrate this Christmas and New Year there is free 2-hourly parking in the town, and businesses are also offering 20% discounts in the run up to Christmas. The Council are also running a SUITE i lár Gleann na Laoi, is croílár shóiséalta é Maigh Chromtha. Tá an baile crúthaithe mar baile an-tarraingteach do turasóirí agus muintir na háite leis an iomad gnónna agus stair éagsúla sa ceantar, chomh maith le rogha gach bia is togha gach digh.

Chun tréimhse na Nollaig a cheiliúradh beidh 2 uair páirceáil saor in aisce sa baile i rith na tréimhse chomh maith le lacáistí speiséalta 20% i mórán gnónna sa ceantar. Beidh Margadh na Nollaig ar siúl ag an Comhairle Contae ar an 11ú de Mí na Nollaig.

Toisc an sárobair atá ar siúl ag muintir na háite, is feidir tréimhse an-ghnóthach agus rathúil bheith ós ar gcomhair amach. special Christmas market on Dec 11th.

Macroom is well and truly open for business and it is the start of a busy and prosperous period for the town. Supporting local where possible can help ensure there will be many more busy and prosperous days to come.
