Jo­ing us in The Square this Fri­day evening


THE count­down to the fes­tive sea­son be­gins in Millstreet on this Fri­day evening with the of­fi­cial turn on of the Christ­mas lights in the Town Square at 6.30pm. No short­age of sur­prises with Santa drop­ping in and ser­e­naded by the Millstreet Com­mu­nity Choir and Millstreet Pipe Band.

To get into the fes­tive fun, pa­trons are asked to wear their Christ­mas hat and/or sweater. And there is a treat in store, a hot choco­late van will be nearby to meet the re­quire­ments of fes­tive go­ers.

Millstreet Com­mu­nity Coun­cil en­cour­ages the pub­lic to shop lo­cal over the com­ing weeks to re­tain busi­ness and main­tain em­ploy­ment. In­deed, shop­pers can en­joy the best of park­ing and ex­cel­lent value in a wide and var­ied range of prod­ucts.

De­cem­ber is shap­ing up to be busy, the shops of­fer at­trac­tive dis­counts and pro­mo­tions. In­deed the out­lets and streets are full of am­bi­ence, ban­ter and fes­tive cheer.

Millstreet Com­mu­nity Coun­cil con­tin­ues to pro­mote the so­cial, eco­nomic, cul­tural and en­vi­ron­men­tal wel­fare of its catch­ment area. Along with Millstreet Tidy Towns and so many other groups, th­ese vol­un­tary or­ga­ni­za­tions have un­der­taken a num­ber of projects to im­prove ameni­ties and help the town main­tain its charm to a con­stant flow of visitors through out the year.

Again, Millstreet’s Green Glens demon­strated its ver­sa­til­ity on host­ing di­verse events and at­trac­tive di­verse age groups and na­tion­al­i­ties. Its all been pretty pos­i­tive for Millstreet, com­mu­nity lead­ers keen to build on its success go­ing into 2019.
