There was plenty of success for Millstreet gaelic games participants during the playing season.
Millstreet claimed an exciting victory over Banteer to land the Duhallow U21 B Hurling Championship title. It goes back to 2002 since Millstreet’s previous triumph in the age group.
The win is a reward for a dedicated team and management that have operated with a small pool of players that ranged in numbers between 13 and 15 all season with a number of minors involved. The Millstreet panel were Patrick Dineen; Donal Sheehan, Aidan Murphy, Donal O’Donovan; Colin O’Leary, Darren Kiely, Padraig Moynihan; Tim Healy, Neil Flahive; Thomas Walsh, Dylan O’Leary, Shane Hickey; Andrew Smyth, Cathal Crowley, Eric Barrett.
A Millstreet and Dromtariffe combination Keale Gaels collected a rewarding Rebel Óg Co. Minor B1 Hurling title on defeating Kilbrittain having earlier captured the North Cork title. Operating with a fury and intensity that eventually wore down the West Cork side, Keale Gaels emmerged worthy winners to a competitive encounter.
Keale Gaels fielded as Daniel Hartnett; Aidan Murphy, Ray Daly, David O’Donovan; Luke O’Donoghue, Conor O’Callaghan , Darragh Cashman; Neil Flahive, Killian O’Sullivan ; Brandon Murphy, Tomás Howard, Gerry
