ICA NEWS

On Monday night next, December 10, Boherbue ICA Guild host a Christmas floral demonstrat­ion in the Pearse Memorial Hall commencing at 8 p.m. Members from the Sliabh Luachra Garden Centre will be in attendance, and admission is only €5. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Afterwards the floral arrangemen­ts will be raffled.

MUSIC ROOM

On this Thursday, December 6, the Music Room group welcome Mr Joe Kennelly to present his Christmas programme at 8 p.m. All are welcome to enjoy a magical evening of varied music. There will be a festive atmosphere with lots of prizes to be won. New members always welcome.

CLOTHES COLLECTION

As part of on-going fundraisin­g the local National School have organised a clothes collection with December 21 the final date.

New or used men’s, women’s and children’s clothes, shoes, handbags, belts, ties, household textiles, stuffed toys or mobile phones (in a separate bag please) can be handed into the school’s office any day during school hours. Your support be appreciate­d.

The St Vincent de Paul annual church gate collection takes place before all parish Masses this weekend, December 8 and nine.

The local Tidy Towns Committee wish to express their gratitude to all those who supported their recent fundraiser. Your generosity knew no bounds and they are extremely grateful.

This group continue to transform Boherbue and we wish them well in their future projects.

The draw results were: €300 Clara McSwneeney, Gneeves. €200 Katie Hickey, Ballyhouli­han; €100 Nora Mary Riordan, Gneeves.

They also wish to announce that they plan to organise an Operation Transforma­tion after Christmas, more details of which will be announced later. But in the meantime they suggest you eat, drink and be merry – you will have an opportunit­y to get back in shape in the New Year.

There will be a ‘Sing for Africa’ fundraiser in Boherbue Parish Church at the 7.30 p.m. Mass on Saturday, December 15, Fr Martin McCormack will celebrate the Mass and there will be a feast of music with Sheila Fitzgerald and Mike Sheehan, Boherbue Parish Choir, Boherbue National School children and Harpists Ciara Hartnett, Isobel Hynes and Sarah O’Keeffe.

TRACTOR RUN

The Meelin Tractor Run will take place on Sunday 9th December. Registrati­on from 11.oo am.in Meelin Community Hall.
