THE infant pupils at Scoil Aonghusa CNS have been busy learning all about the winter season as they have been learning about weather, the seasons and making representative artwork while the older classes are making use of the library and are being encouraged to read more at home during the winter season.

The pupils are also very excited as many of them have family and cultural celebrations at this time of year.

As part of their cultural learning, the pupils and families at Scoil Aonghusa CNS held a Belief Celebration Ceremony on Tuesday November 27. Each family in the school was invited to participate and to bring an artefact or symbol that was representative of their faith/ belief which will be placed on permanent display in the foyer of the new school building. A parent or child representative for each group presented their symbol to the school and spoke about their faith or belief.

Groups represented were The Roman Catholic Church, Christian Churches, Christian Baptist Church, Church of Ireland, Islamic Faith, Buddist and Atheist beliefs.

The school held its Open Night for the 2019/2020 school year in October and parents that are interested in enrolling their child may contact the school to arrange a meeting with the Principal Mrs Catherine Flemming. For further information ring: 022 55314.
