The event is being hosted by the students of Boherbue Comprehensive Int aid of the Simon Community. The event is free however you will have an opportunity to donate to this wonderful charity on the night. We should also be attentive, to our elderly residents, and living alone sick, and infirm, neighbours. The population in Buttevant has increased over the years and we no longer have any knowledge of, or are aware, of who, or where, these new residents, come from. Buttevant has become home to various shady characters and we no longer can trust those whom we do not know. There is a CCTV system within the town but it does not cover all visible residential areas and is only accessible to some appointed persons.

Crime is no longer committed, during the hours of darkness and the majority of incidents happen during daylight hours. Some male persons can be seen traversing various areas of the town and locality regularly and are videoing as they walk about.

They can also be seen looking into and, perhaps, scrutinisingproperties.

We should be alert to and conscious of suspicious persons and also be aware of unusual activities, and suspicious vehicles, operating in all areas.

LOTTERY

Buttevant Soccer Club, promotes a weekly local lottery draw, to help finance the clubs’ expenses, and activities. Your support is greatly appreciated.

DRAMA

Buttevants’ annual drama occasion, was conspicuous, and very much missed, by the absence, of the annual presentation, from the locally based drama group, “The Friary Players”. This group of talented thespians, always delivered some excellent productions, throughout the years, and are to be commended, for their on-stage activities. Putting on regular productions, can be, and are time-consuming, for all concerned, especially when the participants are amateurs, and also have to hold down “daily employment”, and are also family orientated. Perhaps, in the future, the group will return, with what is sure to be more memorable occasions.
