Tomás Clancy is rear­ing and ready to go with the Cork se­niors af­ter a suc­cess­ful year with Fer­moy

ORK’S Tomás Clancy, like his fel­low in­ter-county stars, had a sea­son to for­get with Cork in 2018 as the se­nior side failed to achieve on al­most all lev­els.

That said, the Fer­moy star­man played a hugely sig­nif­i­cant part in his club side se­cur­ing their place in Cork se­nior foot­ball for the first time in decades as well as mak­ing it all the way to the pro­vin­cial fi­nal be­fore fi­nally com­ing un­stuck just a mat­ter of weeks ago.

Clancy may well have had just a few weeks away from the game, but the hugely tal­ented and com­mit­ted foot­baller is de­lighted to be back into the thick of the county scene.

“My sea­son went on late with the club so I took two weeks and then came back but I think you are bet­ter off just keep­ing at it. It is great to get back into that en­vi­ron­ment, its com­pet­i­tive and I like that. I also like the club scene – it’s great to be able to go over and back for a while, but now re­ally good to be back with Cork.”
