PIPE BAND

Many important events took place in 1919, including an attack by the Black and Tans on the Newmarket Band in Main Street on the 30th September 1919 in which many bandsmen were seriously injured at that time most of the bandsmen were playing brass instruments but had pipers in their midst also.

A special commemoration will be held to mark this very important 100th anniversary and further information will appear in this newspaper later in the year
