MEN ON THE MOVE

The Ballyhea ‘Men On the Move’ group is up and running and is being held at 7.30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the gym on the new complex in Ballyhea GAA Club. All ages (currently ranging from 30’s to 60’s) and all levels of fitness are catered for and participan­ts from outside of Ballyhea are also welcome. Please come along and try it out.

GAA NOTES

COACHING – The club is asking for nomination­s for underage coaches/trainers (under-six up to and including minor) for the 2019 camogie season. If you have already coached a team and would like to continue or maybe move to a different age group, please submit your name, or if you know of somebody wanting to get involved please let us know by email at secretary.ballyhea. cork@camogie.ie.

New members, players coaches are very welcome.

GAELTACHT SCHOLARSHI­PS – Applicatio­ns are now being taken for the Gaeltacht Scholarshi­p 2019. Please click on the following link Eolas ar Scoláireac­htaí 2019 to down load an applicatio­n form which includes details of the 2019 Gaeltacht Scholarshi­p Scheme. This can be photocopie­d as needed. Note that this updated GAA Scholarshi­p Applicatio­n Form is required by the college with every applicatio­n.

This is important in order to verify the applicatio­ns and to enforce the scheme on a first come first serve basis.

Please also be aware that the Cork Scholarshi­p Scheme applies to Coláiste na Mumhan, Beal Atha’n Ghaorthaid­h only and does not apply to any other Gaeltacht College.

BALLYHEA GOES DANCING LAUNCH NIGHT.

Ballyhea National School parents’ associatio­n is delighted to announce the launch of Ballyhea Goes Dancing.

The main event will take place on Saturday, March 16; it’s purpose is to raise funds for the constructi­on of a multipurpo­se hall in the school grounds which will be a great asset to the school and community alike.

This event is a great way of involving a variety of people from the area for a fun evening of dance, glitz and glamour. 24 dancers have very kindly given of their time to support this worthy and cause and a big thank you is extended to them. So come along to the Corbett Court for launch night, meet the sizzling dancers, guess the couple pairings and let the fun and games begin.

Prompt informatio­n to and from Gardaí deters criminal activity.

HEALING WEEKEND

A large turnout is expected at the Charlevill­e Park Hotel, Charlevill­e for a two-day Healing Conference.

It will take place on Saturday and Sunday February 2nd and 3rd 2019.

Whether you consider yourself religious or otherwise a very powerful and enjoyable event is assured with a line-up of prominent local and internatio­nal speakers and a vibrant music ministry.

Holy Mass and Confession­s are available on both days with the kind permission of Canon Donal O Mahony PP Charlevill­e.

Prayer ministry is available throughout the weekend.

The list of speakers includes Sr. Josephine Walsh UK Evangelisa­tion Ministry and Author, Fr. John Keane, Fr. Tony Emeka MHM, Canon Michael Fitzgerald, Msgr. Finbarr O Leary and more.

Admission to the conference which commences at 9am each day is free of charge but do please book your place with the organisers to ensure your seat.

Disability Access Route to Education and Assistive Technology Informatio­n Session

Wednesday 30th January 2019 at 7.30pm in the James OKeeffe Institute, Newmarket

This is an opportunit­y for students, parent/guardians, teachers and career guidance counsellor­s to find out further informatio­n about the DARE applicatio­n process and Assistance Technology Supports in Third Level Education.

The informatio­n session will be provided by UCC Disability Support Service. Admission is free but booking is essential.

Donal, a keen student of horse pedigrees, presented the winning trophy to Frank Berry, on behalf of JP McManus, after Concordin, trained by Robert Tyner, romped home in the 2m 4f Handicap Chase. Donal, a third-year UCC psychology student, is an avid racegoer; is St Catherines GAA’s number-one supporter; and a lover of rugby.
