Stunning comeback by footballers
HAVING reached the interval break 0-02 to 2-06 in arrears, Kanturk Intermediate footballers staged a great comeback in the second half of their county division 2 league tie away to Newcestown on Sunday last 10th February.
Whatever was said in the Kanturk dressing room certainly worked the oracle as they goaled from the throw-in after the interval and were 1-07 to 2-06 in arrears at the midway stage of the second half.
Kanturk left it late to gain a share of the spoils with an injury time goal levelling the tie on a 2-09 to 2-09 score line.
Kanturk are due to play Mallow in their next division 2 league tie over the weekend of 17th February but this has been deferred at Mallow’s request.
Kanturk will face Castletownbere in the opening round of the Cork Premier Intermediate Football championship on Sunday 7th April at Ballingeary and the Senior Hurling championship with Sarsfields is set for Pairc Ui Rinn on Friday 19th April 8pm.
