All square as Horgan’s hold Kilbrin at the oiche

THE Blackwater Valley Darts league restarted last Friday night with the following fixtures taking place.

Horgans traveled to Kilbrin Social Club for their match with the clash of the titans in the league.

The visitors won the first game with Adrian Holmes defeating Mike O’Connor 3-2.

Kilbrin won the next three with Alan Ballantyne defeating Mikey Bowles 3-1, Alex McCarthy overcoming Edward Phelan 3-1 and Mick Kennedy taking out Daithi Lenihan 3-2.

Horgans won the next two with Mike Dunlea defeating Alan Mullane 3-2 and Rob Harrington overcoming Pat Healy 3-2 putting it all square after the singles.

In the doubles Adrian Holmes and Rob Harrington defeated Alex McCarthy and Alan Mullane 3-1 while Mike O’Connor and Mick Kennedy defeated Mike Dunlea and Patrick Holmes 3-2.

Final result: Kilbrin Social Club 4 – Horgans 4.

Kit Roches were at home to the Mousetrap for their fixture and have been improving all season.

The home team got off to a flyer winning all six singles. Raymond Harrington defeated Johnny Griffin 3-1, Kevin Lenahan knocked out Owen Doyle 3-0, Aaron Ryan triumphant over Michael O’Rourke 3-0, Chris O’Toole defeated Harry Cosgrove 3-1, Mark Lenahan doing the business against Martin Doyle 3-1 and Ger McCarthy defeating Ryan Harkin 3-0.

The Mousetrap needed to find some spark in the doubles and they did with Owen and Martin Doyle defeating Daniel Linehan and Tim Deady 3-0, Harry Cosgriove and Ryan Harkin defeated Raymond Harrington and Denis O’Sullivan 3-1.

Final result: Kit Roches 6 – Mousetrap 2.

Maureens travelled to Dalys for their encounter with both teams looking for a win after recent defeats.

Dalys won the first game with Gerry Black defeating Sean Dilworth 3-0. Dave O’Brien defeated Tommy Kavanagh 3-0 to square it. Tony Harnett defeated Pat Angland 3-0.while Klaus Richter overcame Brendan Mathews 3-2 to make it level again.

Johnny Holland defeated Andrew Clarke 3-1 and Darren Lynch defeated Danny Butler 3-1 to make it Dalys 4 Maureens 2 after the singles.

In the doubles Danny Butler and Klaus Richter overcame Darren Lynch and Johnny Holland 3-2 while Gerry Black and Brendan Mathews won the points with their defeat of David O’Brien and Pat Angland 3-1. Final result: Dalys 5 – Maureens 3. The Bridge House were at home to Corkerys. This was poised for a close encounter.

Will O’Shea defeated Nicky Sherman 3-1 to put the visitors in front. Eddie O’Rourke defeated Dave O’Leary 3-2 and Colm Cahill defeated Donal Cullinane 3-2 to give the Bridge the lead.

Stephen Connolly defeated Damian Carey 3-0 to level it.

Alan Foley defeated Tim O’Sullivan 3-2 and Alan Flynn defeated Pa Lucey 3-0 to make it Bridge House 4 – Corkerys 2 after the singles.

In the doubles Stephen Connolly and Dave O’Leary defeated Alan Foley and Colm Cahill 3-0 and. Nicky Sherman and Alan Flynn defeated Tim O’Sullivan and Will O’Shea 3-1.

Final result: Bridge House 5 – Corkerys 3. and Ursula Sheehan. Fourth, Michael O’Grady and Una Mortell.

MALLOW GAA LOTTO
