Ghobnatan students have the recipe for success
STUDENT entrepreneurs from Baile Bhúirne have won the Údarás na Gaeltachta- Clár na gComhlachtaí Munster Regional Final.
The two emerging enterprises founded by students from Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne and Coláiste Ghobnatan, Baile Mhic Íre triumphed after an extremely competitive day kindly hosted by Pobalscoil Chorca Dhuibhne in West Kerry on Monday last. They will now represent Munster in the National Final of the competition.
Clár na gComhlachtaí is a hands-on business learning experience developed and delivered in partnership with Junior Achievement Ireland (JAI) and is taught by business volunteers through the Irish language to students in Gaeltacht regions.
Over 750 Transition Year students from Gaeltacht regions nationally participated this year and challenged themselves to create, operate and manage their very own business! The programme provided students with numerous opportunities for the development and reinforcement of important business, academic and leadership skills, which will be invaluable to them in the future.
On behalf of Junior Achievement Ireland, Teresa Leahy commented: “The Údarás na Gaeltachta – Clár na gComhlachtaí encourages students to maximize their potential and provides them with both business skills and life skills for their future.”
The national final will be held in NUIG on 2nd April and the Connemara Coast Hotel, Furbo on April 3rd.
