Golden seal of approval for ‘North Cork’ firm
WISETEK WAS FOUNDED BY MILFORD NATIVE SEAN SHEEHAN
A business founded by a North Cork entrepreneur has got a golden seal of approval at this year’s Irish Management Institute awards.
Wisetek, a global leader in advanced IT asset disposal, data destruction, technology reuse and manufacturing services, was presented with the Gold Standard accolade, last weekend, having secured Best Managed status for four consecutive years. This award marks recognition for the company’s superior business performance, operational excellence and governance by Deloitte.
Commenting on the company’s achievement, Milford native Sean Sheehan, CEO, Wisetek, said: “We are delighted to be recognised once again by Deloitte for the standard we have set in managing our business, the work we have done in developing a real solution for the responsible disposal of aged IT hardware systems and for our ongoing expansion in international markets. This recognition is down to a team effort and the award belongs to everyone in Wisetek.”
Wisetek was recently announced as the winner in The Large Company of the Year by Cork Chamber of Commerce. Last year it was announced as the winner of the Services Exporter of the Year award by the Irish Exporters Association.
In January, the company announced its opening in the UK market with a facility in Reading. The Cork based company has previously expanded into the United States where it is located in Austin, Texas and Sacramento, California; the Middle East; and has a facility in Thailand, a platform to expand into further South-East Asian markets.
The Deloitte Best Managed Companies programme, in association with Bank of Ireland, promotes and recognises excellence in Irish/Northern Irish owned and managed companies. It is the only awards scheme on the island that considers a business’ performance from every perspective.
