Darts League: Home-side Horgan’s hold Kilbrin to a draw
THE Darts League continued last Friday evening.
Daly’s travelled to Maureens for their fixture. It was the home side who took the lead with Andrew Clarke defeating Gary Jones 3-0, Gerry Black defeated David O’Brien 3-1 to level it. Brendan Mathews defeated Pat Angland 3-1 while Johnny Holland defeated James Angland 3-0.
Klaus Richter defeated Sean Mc Gann 3-1 to pull one back for Maureens. Darren Lynch defeated Danny Butler 3-1 to make it a 4-2 lead for the visitors after the singles.
In the doubles James Angland and Peter O’Donovan defeated Darren Lynch and Johnny Holland 3-0 and Brendan Mathews and Gerry Black defeated Andrew Clarke and Klaus Richter 3-2. Final score: Maureens 3 – 5 Dalys. Horgans were at home to Kilbrin Social Club. The home team took the lead with Chris Holmes defeating Alan Mullane 3-0. Kilbrin responded winning the next three games with Alan Ballantyne defeating Daithi Linehan 3-1, Mike O’Connor defeated Adrian Holmes 3-0 and Mick Kennedy defeated Edward Phelan 3-0.
Robert Harrington defeated Alex Mc Carthy 3-1 to get one back for Horgans with John Lynch over coming Mike Dunlea 3-2, giving Kilbrin a 4-2 lead after the singles.
In the doubles Adrian Holmes and Robert Harrington defeated John Lynch and Mick Kennedy 3-1. Chris Holmes and Mike Dunlea defeated Mike O’Connor and Paddy McMahon 3-1.
Final score: Horgans 4 – 4 Kilbrin Social Club.
The Bridge House travelled to Corkerys for their encounter. Peter Heslin defeated Eddie O’Rourke 3-2 to put Corkery’s in front. Alan Flynn defeated Donal Cullinane 3-0 to level it.
Will O’Shea defeated Colm Cahill 3-1 to put the home side back in front. Nicky Sherman defeated Stephen Connolly 3-2 to level it again.
Tim O’ Sullivan defeated Damian Carey 3-0 and Alan Foley defeated Pa Lucey 3-1 - 3-3 after the singles.
In the doubles the Bridge House upped a gear. Eddie O’ Rourke and Alan Flynn defeated Tim O’ Sullivan and Will O’Shea 3-2, Alan Foley and Nicky Sherman defeated Ger McCarthy and Peter Heslin 3-1.
Final score: Corkerys 3 – 5 Bridge House.
In the other fixture, Kit Roches defeated The Mousetrap 8-0
