Knocknagree have too much for Mitchelstown

-

Knocknagree 2-15 Mitchelstown 0-6

ALL plain sailing for Knocknagree on easily accounting for Mitchelstown.

Holding the greater portion of possession as the contest aged, Knocknagree held a clear creative edge to land a telling victory and sit nicely at the top of the table in the company of Castletownbere.

A severely understrength Mitchelstown operated with the wind in the opening half and matched their opponents on points to Shane Beston and Sean Walsh. However, the contest turned in favour of Knocknagree once Anthony O’Connor netted for a 1-6 to 0-5 advantage at the break.

The momentum remained with Knocknagree on the restart, posting three points in quick succession before Fintan O’Connor netted a second goal. Injuries curtailed Mitchelstown impact and it allowed Knocknagree maintain an unbeaten run ahead of a journey to Glenville this weekend.
