The Corkman

Staying in touch has never been more important

-

FINGERS crossed, spring might just be here, at last, and it’s about time, too – farmers the length and breadth of the country have endured a long, wet winter.

Last year many farmers faced into the winter fearing for their fodder stocks, having enduring the cost and hardship of having to import feedstuffs to keep their animals alive, following some of the most extraordinary weather to hit the country in decades. The lessons of that experience haven’t been forgotten and farmers know only too well the importance of a productive spring.

This year, even such fundamental concerns have been eclipsed by Brexit and the huge challenges it poses to every farmer in the country. Even so, the seasons wait for no one and no matter how Brexit works out - or doesn’t - there’s little time for navel gazing as spring is a particularly busy time around the farm, no matter what side of the business you are in. That’s why now is also a good time to focus on springtime farming in The Corkman.

In this supplement you’ll find timely advice, information on current events and lots of information on products and services available to the agricultural industry at large.

They say it’s good to keep in touch and this week The Corkman aims to keep the farming community in touch with what’s going on in agriculture circles, as well as with the many suppliers out there serving the sector.

And it’s a two-way street – The Corkman is here to bring your advice / information, products or services to a wider audience. For all farming related matters, contact Noelle Foley at 0867952798 or e-mail nfoley@corkman.ie
