League wins for Kanturk, Knock’ and Millstreet
Kanturk 3-14 Aghabullogue 0-5
A CLINICAL attacking display paved the way for Kanturk to easily overcome Aghabullogue to this Coachford encounter. Straight from the off, Kanturk had warmed to their task, quicker, smarter and much more intense in everything they did.
An explosive start from Kanturk yielded a blast of scores including goals from Lorcán McLoughlin, Kyrle Holland and Mark Healy to jump 11 points up inside six minutes.
Aghabullogue plugged the danger zones to interrupt the onslaught only to trail 3-8 to 0-2 at the break.
The tempo dropped on the restart, Kanturk content to hold what they had yet again outscoring a disappointing home challenge.
COUNTY FL DIVISION 4
Knocknagree 2-14 Glenville 0-4
SHORT quite a number of their panel made no difference for a comprehensive Knocknagree win away to Glenville. Having operated with a near gale in the opening half, Knocknagree’s 0-8 to 0-2 lead didn’t exactly look invincible at the break yet they maintained control all through. Glenville flattered to deceive to register the initial score as they operated second best thereafter.
Knocknagree arrived at the pace of the game with Anthony O’Connor in excellent kicking form. Indeed the second half went along similar lines. Knocknagree’s cause boosted on goals from John F Daly and John O’Keeffe widened the margin to allow Knocknagree maintain their top of the table status.
COUNTY FL DIVISION 5
Millstreet 0-14 Ballinora 1-8
MILLSTREET ground out a narrow three point victory over Ballinora to maintain their presence at the top of the table. Though visiting Ballinora gave as good as they got, Millstreet held more of a cutting edge to collect their latest win.
The home side rushed into an early lead before a Ballinora goal squared up matters. However the general balance of play tilted towards Millstreet, points from Cathal Crowley, Danny Buckley and Mark Ellis helped secure a 0-9 to 1-3 interval advantage.
Not too much between the sides on the turnover, any Ballinora score drew a response from Millstreet to maintain a three point grip at the full time whistle.
