Kate O’Donnell

The death occurred on March 8 of Kate O’Donnell (née Carey) of 5 St Fanahan’s Court, Mitchelsto­wn, at St Patrick’s Community Hospital, Fermoy.

The late Kate, along with her family, previously lived at 5 Clonmel Road, Mitchelsto­wn.

She was predecease­d by her husband, Jack. Her popularity was borne out in the very large and represente­d attendance that was present at her Funeral on Saturday evening at the Chapel of Rest. There was also a fine gathering at the Requiem Mass and burial on Sunday. Interment took place to the adjoining cemetery.

To her sons, Sean, Eddie, Vincent and Mike; daughters, Mary (Cahill), Kay and Patricia; family; sons-in-law; daughters-in-law; grandchild­ren; great-grandchild­ren; sister, Hannah (Griffin); brother, Eddie; nephews; nieces; relatives; neighbours and many friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.

Timmy White

The death occurred after a short illness of Timmy White, Ballybeg, Mitchelsto­wn on March 4.

The late Timmy was affectiona­tely known as ‘ The Rancher’. He was known far and wide.

He was formerly of 32 St Fanahan’s Place, Mitchelsto­wn. His popularity was borne out in the very large and represente­d attendance that attended his Funeral at his daughter Ann’s residence on Tuesday evening, and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Wednesday. Interment took place to the adjoining cemetery.

To his wife, Mary (née McAuliffe); sons, Michael, Tadie, John and Brian; daughters, Ann (Dalton) Maggie (Keating) and Podgie (Collins); daughters-in-law, Jean, Patricia, Vera and Helen; sons-in-law, Bob, Mikey, and Tony; sisters, Kitty, Esther and Sheila; brothersin-law; sisters-in-law; grandchild­ren; great-grandchild­ren; nephews; nieces; relatives; neighbours and friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.

Fr Patrick Walsh

The death occurred on February 23 at University Hospital Limerick of Fr Patrick Walsh.

The late Fr Patrick was attached to the Redemptori­st Order in Limerick.

A native of Ballindang­an, Mitchelsto­wn, he was in his 90th year.

He joined the Redemptori­sts in 1947 after finishing college at St Clement’s College, Limerick.

In 1963 he went to India as a Seminarian, where he served in Bangalore and Calcutta.

He preached to Parish Missions throughout India and formed a friendship with the late Mother Teresa.

Shortly after returning to Ireland in 1999, he became the director of the Holy Family Confratern­ity.

He was gentle and kind and was best-known as a very holy and sacred man.

His community were extremely fond of him, and they acknowledg­ed the care and love he had for everyone he met, especially those who hadn’t been well.

People of Ballindang­an have fond memories of Fr Walsh’s visits from India during the ‘70s, when he used to say Mass in the local Church in Ballindang­an. He showed the locals slides of his time and experience­s in India.

There was a very large attendance at his Funeral at the Redemptori­st Monastery, Limerick, and also at the Requiem Mass in Mount Alphonsus Church. Interment took place to Castlemung­ret Cemetery.

To his sister, Sr Cecelia (Loreto Sisters Fermoy); nephews; nieces; grandnephe­ws; grandniece­s; great-grandnephe­w; his Redemptori­st Community relatives and many friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.
