JUVENILE CLUB NEWS

Clyda Rovers under-16 Football League Clyda Rovers 5.09 v Kilshannig 0.4. Clyda under-16 footballers had their first league match of 2019 at Mourneabbey last Friday night against our near neighbours Kilshannig. Clyda got off to a great start with a goal from Rowan Doherty and he followed up with another goal after eight minutes. Clyda played against the strong breeze but worked the ball very well with Rhys Deane and Kevin Graham controlling the back line. Patrick Ryan was up next to hit the back of the net on the 10th minute.

Kilshannig registered their first score in the 18th minute. Clyda were now playing a great style of football, kicking the ball into the full forward line which yielded a great goal from Cormac O’Reilly just before half time. HT score Clyda 4-3 to Kilshanning 0-2.

Kilshannig came out fighting in the second half but Clyda’s backs held strong. Kilshanning were playing much better now but were finding it hard to get scores.
