Fashion therapy night of glam in Freemount

- SHEILA FITZGERALD

GLAMOUR and haute couture will be the focus at a fashion show in Freemount Community Centre on Friday, March 29, with proceeds going towards local projects.

In collaboration with the Celia Holman Lee Modelling Agency, 12 local retailers will display their spring and summer collections, and fashion-conscious ladies will also have the opportunity to check out and buy from a diverse variety of local fashion, craft and beauty businesses. Trade stands open from 6pm. Ladies are also advised to ‘glam up’ as there will be a prize for the Best Dressed at the event.

This fundraising endeavour will support two local projects, including the development of a local youth centre.

This will involve renovating an area in the community centre which will be a dedicated, safe and secure space for young people to meet and participate in activities.

“It is vital we support the young people in our community given the challenges in today’s world, and the development of a youth centre is a good starting point,” said Margaret O’Mullane.

The second project will involve the much-needed resurfacing of the community car park, which serves the community centre, national school, play-school, playground, GAA grounds, after-school club, walkway, multi-sports area and heritage centre.

“Villages like Freemount are vitally important to the sustainability of rural Ireland... as a community, we strive to continuously improve the facilities and services in our community to ensure Freemount is an attractive place to live” she added.
