Credit union tackles the dangers of social media
SERIES OF FRREE EVENTS WILL HIGHLIGHT CYBER BULLYING AND ONLINE PSYCHOLOGY
RATHMORE and District Credit Union is kicking off a new series of free events it is organising with an information evening on the dangers of social media to be addressed by a leading expert in the area of cyber bullying and online psychology.
It’s a timely debate that is part of a series the Credit Union describes as a ‘novel way of re-engaging with members and the local community’.
The dangers of social media evening takes place on Monday, March 25, at Rathmore Credit Union from 7pm; where renowned online expert Dr Maureen Griffin will speak about the perils facing children and teens in cyber space.
Free events to follow in the series will tackle the accessing of grants for second level students; succession planning and protecting the family business for farmers as well as a start your own business event.
CEO of Rathmore and District Credit Union Mark Hussey said the objective of the events is reconnection with members, and connection with possible new members: “When we sat down to plan our events for 2019, giving back to our members, the community, and connecting with non-members was the primary focus, this is where the idea came from.
“We contacted IRD Duhallow, another local group to assist, and from here we came up with the four topics and speakers. Hopefully we have hit the right topics, and I have no doubt the evening will be highly informative.
“I appeal to everyone interested, to register, and come along on the night.” Contact (064)7758328 for more information.
