Avail of Jobs Week 2019 to find the right job for you...

WITH Jobs Week 2019 right around the corner, employers and job-seekers here in Kerry are poised to avail of some of the great services from around the county.

Running from from Monday March 25 to Friday March 29, inclusive, the aim of the week this year is to once again highlight the abundance of services and supports available here in Kerry for both employers and those out of work from the Department of Employment Affairs & Social Protection’s Intreo service.

Intreo is the Department’s single point of contact for employment and income supports and offers practical, tailored employment services and supports for jobseekers and employers alike.

The week begins and finishes with an online Jobs Fairs while the Adult Education Centre in Bell Heights in Kenmare will host a jobs-related information event on Wednesday March 27 from 1:30pm to 4pm.

The next day, Thursday March 28, will see the Skellig Hotel in Dingle as the setting of an ‘Employers & Education Expo’. This will run from 11am to 3pm and will allow job-seekers to interact with a number of local employers and training agencies.

Thursday March 28 also marks the ‘Careers in Ireland’ European Online Job Day; this online only event is being hosted by EURES and is being billed as an opportunity for job-seekers to access thousands of jobs in all industries from construction to ICT to financial services, hospitality and the Health sector.

In advance of the event, job-seekers will be able to search and apply for jobs that match their profile, make contact with employers and book one or more job interviews; then on the day, job-seekers will be to go online and virtually attend a programme of interesting presentations by excellent Irish recruiters. Presentations will include ‘ CV preparation’, ‘ How to Excel at Interviews’, ‘Social Media Job Searching’ and many others.

People will also be to chat online with employers and ask questions during the Q&A session after each presentation.
