CBS advances to county final with win over Bantry
MITCHELSTOWN CBS senior footballers had a good win over Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí in the Cork Colleges Senior B Football Championship semi final at the 4G pitch in Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Wednesday.
CBS were against the cross wind in the first half and did well.
Early points by Jake Buckley and Colin English (frees) had them 0-3 ahead after five minutes. Bantry, who lacked penetration up front had their opening score in the 12th minute.
By the 20th minute, CBS were 0-4 to 0-2 clear.
Aaron O’Brien and Timmy O’Sullivan added a point each as CBS led at the break 0-6 to 0-3.
Bantry had three early points on the changeover. CBS had a goal by Tomas Vaughan. Mitchelstown did well from here on and eventually won out by 1-11 to 0-6. CBS now meet Boherbue Comprehensive School in the County final.

Kildorrery Minor footballers also had a very good win over Grenagh in Grenagh on Sunday. The final score was 3-18 to 0-1 as Kildorrery dominated from the start.

The subs were: Padraigh Harrington for Cathal O’Sullivan; and Cathal O’Sullivan for Padraigh Harrington.
On Thursday night last, St Dominic’s had a good win, 2-11 to 1-7, over Kildorrery in the Rebel Óg North Under-16 Football League.
St Dominic’s led at the break 0-7 to 1-2.
Goals in the second half by Darragh O’Brien and Thomas Quinlan proved decisive as they emerged deserving winners.
