- Youth League: Kanturk U17s 4, Springfield 1 AUL Premier A: Kanturk 5 - 0 Rylane

THE Daly Industrial Supplies U17 Super Cup semi-final, Kanturk AFC V Midleton, is in Gurteenard, Kanturk on Sunday 31st March, with kick off at 2pm.

This is a huge game for the young players of our Under 17 team - you are asked to please support.

Played at Gurteenard in great conditions on Sunday, the home side hit the ground running and after a couple of great chances took the lead on 15 minutes. Some great work down the left from Jamie Finn was well finished off by Ruari O’Sullivan.

The Turks made it 2-0 after more good work down the left was headed home by inform striker Grantas Bucinskas.

Into the second half, Kanturk kept the slick football going and made it 3 after great build up play was spectacularly volleyed to the net by Finn.

With 15 to go the home side finished their scoring with a great header from a corner by Josh O’Connor. All credit to the away side who never gave up and scored a consolation goal with time running out. Best for Kanturk: Niall Breen, Jamie Finn and Cathal Broderick.

Kanturk made it 13 games unbeaten in the league with a very impressive performance against Rylane last Saturday.

It was a day when everything went right for Kanturk and a scoreline of 5-0 did not flatter the home side as on another day it could have been more but for the woodwork coming to Rylane’s rescue a number of times.

Kanturk led 2-0 at half time thanks to goals from Ross O’Connor and Nathan Healy and they added three more in the second with goals from John Dennehy and two from Liam Geaney.

Best for Kanturk on the day were Ross O’Connor Liam Geaney and John Dennehy.

Kanturk are now top with 3 games to go and it was great to see a good crowd attend the game. Hopefully, the town can get behind the boys in their push for the league.
