The Launch of Local man Liam Madden’s local election campaign will take place this Friday night @ 9pm in the Hill Bar Bottlehill. All are welcome to attend.

Clyda U21’s went down to Buttevant on the scoreline of 4-6 to 14 points. It was a good game and a great response by the lads after conceding 4 goals in the first half. Clyda will now play Glanworth in the next round to get its campaign back on track

An under-strength Clyda Senior team were well beaten by Fermoy seniors away in the league Sunday on a scoreline of 1-15 to 0-6.

U8 Monster Football Blitz: Clyda U8 footballer­s had their first outing of the year on the 4G pitch in Pairc Uí Chaoimh in a Monster Football Blitz last Saturday. Great to see such large numbers turning out on the day. Thanks to Rebel Óg for organising this opportunit­y for all our young players.

U12 Football League: Clyda U12 Footballer­s got their season off to a winning start against Kilavullen last Wednesday night 20th March in Mourneabbe­y under lights. Thanks to Kilavullen for a great game.

They continued their winning ways on Saturday 23rd March against Buttevant on a glorious Spring afternoon. Fresh after their midweek victory Clyda provided a feast of delightful first half scores. The defence was outstandin­g regularly joining in the attack. Buttevant threatened a brief comeback but result was put beyond doubt. Thanks to Buttevant for a sporting game and having the pitch in immaculate condition.

Clyda U14 Football League: Clyda U14’s played their second football match of the season in Grenagh’s new pitch last Sunday 24th March. Having beaten Buttevant in the opening round confidence was high heading into this meeting of our near neighbours. However, we met a very strong Grenagh side that started brightly and we were behind on the score line 0-4 to 0-0 after 10 minutes. Gradually we rallied and at half time Clyda scoreline was 1-3 to Grenagh 1-7. In the second half Clyda were well on top and narrowed the gap to a single point with 5 minutes remaining but Grenagh scored a second goal against the run of play that put 4 points between the sides again. Final Score Clyda 1- 6 to Grenagh 2-7.
