SCHOOLS FINAL

Boherbue Comprehensive School senior footballers lost out in their bid for all-Ireland honours losing out in heart-breaking circumstances to Monaghan side Ballybay at the Kildare Centre of Excellence on Saturday evening last.

It was end to end stuff from the throw-in which saw the teams level after 60 minutes and extra time on the cards.

Here, Boher were quicker off the blocks and looked the better side. However, despite the heroics of a number of players, none other than BJ Dunstan in goal and Jack O’Connor in defence, they had to settle for runner-up spot.

They have nothing to be ashamed of – they gave it their all and can feel proud of their school, their clubs and families. Despite the result it was a memorable occasion with huge support at this spacious venue for the boys.

See sports pages in this paper for full match report.
