Kildorrery keep on winning in the county league

KILDORRERY Intermedia­te hurlers maintained their good run in the Divison Four County Intermedia­te Hurling League at Kildorrery on Sunday, when they easily accounted for Aghada.

This is their fifth win from their five games played to date.

The final score was 1-21 to 0-9. Kildorrery led at the break, 1-11 to 0-5. The team was: Ian Butler, Tom Monaghan, Shane Fitzgerald, Cormac O’Baoill, John Hunter, James Keating (0-2), Michael Walsh (0-1), James O’Sullivan (0-1), Dylan Kent (0-2), Jamie O’Gorman, Peter O’Brien (0-5, 0-2f, 0-1 ‘65’), Finbarr Stapleton (1-3), Shane O’Neill (0-1), William Fouhy (0-4), Cathal Harrington (0-1).

The subs were: PJ Keating, Will Coffey, Tiernan Condon (0-1), Jerry McCarthy, James Magnier, Michael Lillis, Darren McNamara.

On Sunday last, Kildorrery played Knocknagre­e in the County Division Four Football League. Knocknagre­e emerged winners by 3-16 to 0-8.

Mitchelsto­wn CBS Under-14 hurlers were defeated by Pobalscoil na Tríonóide, Youghal, in the Cork County final at Fermoy on Thursday.

Exchanges were close all through, but two goals in each half proved decisive for Youghal. At the break, they led 2-8 to 0-9.

CBS did well on the changeover, and with nine minutes remaining were 0-17 to 2-10 clear.

The Youghal side finished very strongly and emerged winners by 4-13 to 0-17.
