Nuala O’Connell

The death occurred unexpected­ly, on May 24 at the Mercy Hospital Cork, of Nuala O’Connell (née Smith), Ballykenly, Glanworth, and formerly of Cavan town.

The late Nuala was predecease­d by her husband, Finbarr.

She was well-known in the Ballindang­an and Glanworth areas.

Her popularity was borne out in the very large and represente­d attendance that was present on Sunday evening at the Chapel of Rest, Baldwin Street, for her removal to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Ballindang­an, and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Monday.

Interment took place to St Dominic’s Cemetery, Glanworth.

To her sons, Patrick and Daniel; daughters, Emer (Collins), Ann (McGowan), Aileen (Dennehy), Mary (Corsini), and Finola (Fox); sisterin-law, Abby Ferrick; grandchild­ren, Ciara, Niamh, Cian, Katie, Shona, Darra, Culann, Gearoid, Annie, Rory, Emma, Harry, Aoife and Fionn; daughters-in-law, Gretta and Rose; sonsin-law, Tadhg, Joe, Kieran and Stefano; sister, Dympna (O’Reilly); nephews; nieces; relatives; neighbours; and many friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.

John Lane

The death occurred on May 21 at Cork University Hospital of John Lane, Monagown, Conna. The late John was well known locally. There was a large attendance at the removal from Ronayne’s Funeral Home on Thursday evening to St Catherine’s Church, Conna, and also at the Requiem Mass and burial on Friday.

Interment took place to Knockmourn­e Cemetery.

To his brothers, Michael, Martin and Kevin; sisters, Helen and Betty (Condon); sisters-inlaw; brother-in-law; nieces; nephews; relatives; neighbours; and many friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.
