Harbour Rovers always in control over Ballygiblin Division 1 HL clash

HARBOUR Rovers emerged easy winners over Ballygiblin in the Cavanagh’s Fermoy Division 1 HL at Ballygiblin. From the offset the winners gained the upperhand. Jessie Walsh, Francis J O’Flynn and Stephen Condon had points that moved them 0-3 to no score in front. Ballygiblin settled and two pointed frees by Christopher Noonan by the 10th minute left just a point between the teams.
Harbour Rovers prevailed from here on. Jack Flavin, Thomas Condon and Jack Coughlan impressed in the half back line sector while John O’Sullivan and Padraigh Hannon featured strongly at midfield ensuring a constant supply to the entire forward line who all figured on the scoreboard over the course of the game. After 16 minutes they moved 0-5 to 0-3 in front and six minutes later the lead was increased to 1-9 to 0-3-the goal by Shane O’Riordan. Dave Moher kept the home side in front with two frees but it was all Harbour Rovers from here on with a late scoring spree by Stephen Condon (2) and Denis Gallagher moved them 1-13 to 0-5 in front at the break.
With the issue over a contest the opening stages of the second half were close enough with Stephen Condon, Sean O’Sullivan, Padraigh Hannon, Dylan Reidy-Price, Jerome Fitzgibbon, Francis J O’Flynn and Christopher Noonan trading points by the 48th minute 1-18 to 0-10. Diarmuid Noonan had another point for Ballygiblin but it was the defending league champions that saw out the half in style. Stephen Condon (4) and John O’Sullivan (2) had points with Condon completing the scoring on the stroke of the full time whistle when he was on hand to score their second goal.
