Mallow Girls Rugby

MALLOW rugby club invites girls aged from 6 to 18 years of age to give rugby a try.

No rugby or previous sporting experience are necessary while practices and activities are structured to provide the girls with a fun and challenging experience.

The girls minis section (Under 8, 10 and 12) practices from 10am to 11am in Mallow Town Park on Saturdays while the under 14, 16 and 18 girls practice sessions are on Mondays and Thursday from 7pm to 8pm in the Town Park.

The Mallow club are keen to welcome any girls that would like to check rugby out. Coaches ensure that all the girls learn rugby skills and participate in non-contact and contact games based on individual girls’ interests and Abilities.

For more information on the girls rugby programme, please contact the club’s girls rugby coordinator Ian Vaughan at 0862510504 or vaughani@eircom. West End Arts Studio which will get under way at 6pm.

A highlight of the evening here will be the very humouorus Robert Gogan show, “Strolling Through Ulysses” which will begin at 8pm. This is an amusing run through some of the characters and incidents from Joyce’s masterpiece and aimed at all those who have not yet managed to read the book.

Art and cinema presentations will also feature and details of these will be confirmed next week.

At 10pm in O’Keeffe’s Bar approximately 30 local singers will take part in “Every Song has a Name, Every Name has a Song”. The 30 singers will meet in O’Keeffes on Monday next at 9pm and will randomly draw a well known Christian Name. They will then have 11 days to find and learn off a song featuring that name before they return to perform it on Culture Night.

All these events are free of charge and the Arts Collective are hoping that they will all be well supported and bring a bit of a buzz to the town on Culture Night.
