KILLAVULLE­N had a big win over Millstreet in the Rebel Og North U-14 HC Division 2 semi-final at Glantane on Wednesday. Millstreet had the aid of the strong breeze in the first half.

They started well with Hugh Keane and Conor Lehane ‘65’ having early points. Gradually Killavulle­n got into the game and Rory O’Regan excelled at centre forward.

O’Regan goaled in the 12th minute and he followed with a point in the 16th minute. Killavulle­n backs were very solid and they made some good clearances. Charlie Cremin in goal was also excellent.

The Avondhu side had their second goal in the 24th minute when a long range free by Eoin O’Hanlon was gathered by Ian O’Mahony who dispatched to the net. At half time Killavulle­n led 2-2 to 0-2.

Killavulle­n did very well on the restart. Their half back line were very solid and their forwards were clinical. Good play by Stephen Rea to Rory O’Regan led to a fine point by Darragh O’Connor. Eoin Magnier goaled in the 38th minute.

Colm Hannon pointed a free at the end of the third quarter that saw Killavulle­n 3-4 to 0-2 clear. Eoin Magnier pointed again. Millstreet’s only score of the second half came in the 47th minute when Cormac Lehane pointed a free. Colm Hannon added a point 3-6 to 0-3.

In the 50th minute a free by Colm Hannon was finished to the net by Darragh O’Connor. Eoin Magnier and Evan Sheehan had a goal each in the closing minutes. Killavulle­n now await the winner of Ballygibli­n and Grenagh in the final.
