Seán Rice

The death occurred on September 5 at his residence of John (Sean) Rice of 19 Moher Crescent, Mitchelsto­wn.

The late Sean was well-known locally. There was a large gathering at the Funeral at the Chapel of Rest, Baldwin Street, on Saturday evening. There was also a good-sized gathering at the Requiem Mass in Ballindang­an Church on Sunday and burial to St Dominic’s Cemetery Glanworth.

To his brothers, Denis, Eugene, Thomas, Tony and Michael; sisters, Mary (Butler), Eileen (Dineen), and Joan; brothers-in-law; sisters-inlaw; nephews; nieces; relatives; neighbours and many friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.

Donal (Donie) O’Riordan

The death occurred on August 31 at St Patrick’s Community Hospital, Fermoy, of Donal (Donie) O’Riordan, Robert Street, Mitchelsto­wn, and formerly of Ballinrush Kilworth.

The late Donie was very well-known locally.. His popularity was borne out in the large and represente­d attendance present at the removal on Monday evening to Mitchelsto­wn parish Church. There was also a fine gathering on Tuesday for the Requiem Mass and burial.

Interment took place to Kilcrumper Old Cemetery Fermoy.

To his brothers, Bill, Mick, Dave and Pat; sisters-in-law; nephews; nieces; relatives; neighbours; and friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.

William Byrne

The death took place on August 29 after a long illness of William Byrne, Philadelph­ia and formerly of Ballyderow­n, Kilworth.

The late William is survived by his wife, Margaret (née Griffin); son, Thomas; daughter, Megan (Munlay); grandchild, Ciara; sisters, Frances (Kenny), Mary (Sherlock) and Breda (Drislane); nieces; nephews; grand-nephews; grand-nieces; and cousins in Ireland and Philadelph­ia.

The funeral took place in Neligan’s Funeral Home, Fermoy, on Monday evening, with removal to St Martin’s Church Kilworth. Interment took place to Kilcrumper New Cemetery.

To his family and friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.

Nancy Condon

The death occurred on September 7 at Marymount Hospice Cork of Nancy Condon (née O’Dwyer), Carriganle­igh, Mitchelsto­wn and formerly of Ballybrien, Ballylande­rs.

The late Nancy was predecease­d by her husband, Billy.

She was a very popular member of the local community. Her popularity was borne out in the very large and represente­d attendance at the Funeral on Monday evening at the Chapel of Rest Mitchelsto­wn.

There was also a fine gathering for the Requiem Mass in the Parish Church on Tuesday.

Interment took place to Brigown New Cemetery.

To her son, Maurice; daughters, Sharon (Geary), Valerie (Sheehan), Mairead (Connolly) and Irene (O’Keeffe); family; sons-in-law, John, Rory, Shane and Ger; Maurice’s partner, Lauren; grandchild­ren; brothers; sisters; brothers-inlaw; sisters-in-law; nephews; nieces; relatives; neighbours and friends, we tender our sincere sympathy.
