98% stock sold at Kanturk weanling day

AT Kanturk Mart this Tuesday, 10th September, There were 526 animals up for sale, including 302 weanlings and there was a 98% clearance.

This was the mart’s second weanling sale with plenty customers with the light weanling bulls making top prices. This sale was sponsored by Boherbue Co- Op Creameries.

The Supreme Champion was a LM Bull, weight 535kgs - €1,400 owned by John Guerin, Ballyduane, Newmarket.

The Reserve Champion was a CH Bull, weight 430kgs - €1,100 owned by David Hegarty, Bandon.

The Best Pen of Male Cattle, LM Bulls, weight 355kgs - €800 was owned by William O’Connor, Kiskeam.

The Best Pen of Female Cattle, LM Heifers, weight 280kgs - €705 was owned by Denis Frawley, Lisgriffin, Buttevant.
