Doneraile re-imagined brings ‘big house’ back to life

-

‘RE-IMAGINE Doneraile’ was the theme for this year’s Culture Night and great fun was had last Friday Night when Townhouse Café and Interiors Went back in time through script written by Myra Ryall with a look at life in the draper’s shop on the main street in the tow.

This was followed by some views of what life was like in ‘ The Big House’ as seen by some local people who worked at Doneraile Court, and played out by The Doneraile Drama Society from a script written by Marian Quirke and Willie Pat Halihan.

History was made when the newly restored Doneraile Court opened its doors for its first Culture Night.

The night was performed by members of the Doneraile Drama Society, Doneraile Tidy Towns, Doneraile Development Association and friends of Doneraile.

Organisers sent ‘many thanks’ to Grace Cronin for her delightful music and to the OPW and Cork County Council for their assistance.
