New digital hubs plan for the Cork Gaeltachtaí is unveiled
DIGITAL hubs offering access to high speed broadband and other services in Baile Mhúirne, Béal Átha’n Ghaorthaidh and Oileán Cléire will form part of an All Ireland network unveiled by Údarás na Gaeltachta bosses in Dublin this week.
The G-teic office in Béal Átha’n Ghaorthaidh is already up and running under the management of Comharchumann Forbartha Mhúscraí while the Baile Mhúirne facility is to form part of the Coláiste Íosagáin development when it eventually comes online.
Those who take desks in the Gaeltacht G-Teic facilities will be able to use the Guinness Enterprise Centre in Dublin free of charge due to a reciprocal agreement signed with that centre, it was revealed at the launch.
“This growing digital ecosystem is providing an excellent opportunity for new technology companies to establish or locate themselves in the rural areas which encompass the Gaeltacht,” said an Údarás na Gaeltachta spokesperson.
