Talk on life and death of Terence McSwiney
DUHALLOW Heritage Society Presents a talk on ‘ The Life and Death of Terence MacSwiney’ on Thursday 10th October, at 8pm in Coláiste Treasa.
The story of the poet, playwright, soldier and second republican Lord Mayor of Cork City whose death on hunger strike in 1920 focused the eyes of the world on the struggle for independence then taking place in Ireland.
The talk will be presented by soldier, historian and author Gerry White, who was instrumental in establishing the museum in Collins Barracks, Cork.
The talk, encompassing the revolutionary life of Terence McSwiney, is relevant for both Junior and Senior Cycle students of History as McSwiney features on both syllabi.
