Mallow SO set sail in new kayaks

MALLOW Special Olympics first outing on the River Blackwater with their six new kayaks took place last Sunday afternoon in ideal weather.

With Special Olympics Galway as their guests, the group gathered at the Bridge House carpark before the off.

Geraldine Buckley of the Mallow S.O. wishes to thank Lough Lein Charity Competition Kerry and Mary Moynihan Cronin and Mona Sheehan’s Bar for all their fundraising and without their help it would not have been possible to buy the kayaks, and a special thanks to Richie Willis of the Bridge House for facilitating them on Sunday morning by opening early with tea and coffees, and Down Town Takeaway for providing the lunch to the athletes and visitors.
