Table quiz in McCarthy’s bar to support Air Ambulance service

A TABLE quiz in McCarthy’s Bar takes place on this Friday night at 8.30, and it supports the Irish Community Rapid Response Air Ambulance.

Ireland’s first privately funded air ambulance service is operational, and it is estimated that it will respond to up to 500 calls per year.

It brings most of the population of a 15,000-square-kilometre area within 20 minutes of critical medical care.

The air ambulance is run by the IICRR – a charity dedicated to pre-hospital care costing €2million a year to operate.

An AW109 helicopter has been leased from Sloane Helicopters in the UK and is based at Rathcoole.
