Much interest in cattle prices at Kanturk Mart

THERE was a bigger sale at Kanturk Co-operative Mart this week with 350 cattle sold – and a big attendance of people anxious to see what prices were making.

On Tuesday, it was a good sale with plenty of demand. Top class bullocks were making €1.80-€2 a kg, while heifers were making €1.70-€1.90 a kg. Sample prices: CALVES

2 HE – 475kgs - €870 On Tuesday, October 8, Kanturk Mart will hold a Spring Born Weanling Show and Sale, sponsored by Southern Milling. Show categories include: LM, BB, CH, SIM as well as a mixed class.

Intakes open from 7am. Show Cattle must be penned by 10am.

Judging from 10.30am. Sale of Show Cattle at 1pm.

Prizes to the value of €2,000 up for grabs.
