Communal night of culture in Cullen

CULLEN friends signed up for Culture Night to deliver a diverse cultural experience, enjoyed by the public in Cullen Community Centre.

Organiser Elizabeth O’Sullivan thanked the support from Cullen Pipe Band, Glór na nGael and Feis Laitiarain on promoting the event. A presentati­on was made to Anne McAuliffe for her invaluable guidance on hosting music classes over the years.

Bean an Tí Noreen Meade introduced the acts and the appreciati­ve audience savoured singing, dancing, music and story telling performanc­es from the All Ireland Comhaltas Championsh­ips in Drogheda, Munster and All Ireland Scór winners.

Performers will include the fantastic Crossfield­s Ceili Band U12/ 18 champions, Ellen Cronin, U18 Storytelli­ng champion Siobhán Cronin, Katie O’Sullivan, Ellen Cronin, Maggie Moynihan, Muireann Vaughan, the Millstreet U12 Set Dancers, Millstreet Comhalthas Ceolteiorí, the Cullen Ballad Group and other artists.

And there was a special welcome for two members of the Duarigle Gaels minor football team, Darragh Cashman and Luke Murphy, who helped Cork win the All Ireland Minor Football Championsh­ip.
