Science fair hits the streets
IN addition to the more than 50 organizations exhibiting in this year’s Munster Maths and Science Fair, event organizers have released details of the outdoor experiments and demonstrations schedule.
An extensive and fun series of drone demonstrations and interactive experiments will kick off at 11.30am with activities scheduled on the hour and half hour until 4pm. Horner, Physics Buskers and Nutty Scientists will be delivering fun and interesting activities at: 11.30am: 120 noon: 12.30pm 10pm, 1.30pm: 20pm 2.30pm 30pm 3.30pm and 4pm.
As Paul Nugent of Physics Buskers stated: “Be amazed by demonstrations of Archimedes Law of Forces, shown through tug of war; Bernoulli’s Law for Fluid Flow with giant windbags; Faraday’s Law of Induction, shown with a simple motor; a vortex blower, musical straws, windmills, rockets, and much, much more. Take a few minutes and you can even make a simple musical instrument to take home.” Nugent says they aim to entertain with audience participation essential’.
The Munster Maths and Science Fair will be held at the Mallow GAA Sports Complex in Carrigoon on Sunday, October 13 and is open from 11.30am to 4.30pm. Admission is free.
Organised by Mallow Development Partnership, this popular annual event is sponsored by Cork County Council through the Economic Development Fund. The event is also supported by the Irish American Partnership, Mallow Credit Union and Windsource Ltd.
