Banteer camogie pull off historic win
A DETERMINED Banteer pulled off a thrilling 2-3 to 1-4 victory over Laochra Óg in the County U-12 Camogie Final played at Castle Road. The power balance swung either way right through a fascinating contest only for Banteer to pack the extra degree of class to edge the outcome to land their first title in the grade.
From an all out team effort, the Banteer defence tackled and harried with goalkeeper Leah O’Donoughue producing terrific saves. And going forward, the Banteer attack were sharp and industrious for Edel O’Donoughue and Gráinne O’Neill net goals.
Team captain Eve O’Connor accepted the Cup amidst jubilant scenes of celebration.
