AUTUMN STATIONS – The autumn Stations will commence in September. October 4, Ballinadri­deen, Ballynoran, Coolcaum, Baallyroe and Dromin in the home of Denis and Geraldine Mac.

October 2, the General Station in the church for Pruntus, Ardskeagh, Ballylopin, Gurrane, Knightsgro­ve, Castlewrix­on, Ballycosgr­y, Lisballyhe­a, Ballyhoura, Loughlea, Glantane, Newtown, Sorrell, Farran, Cooline, Milltown, Kiltass. Stations Masses will be celebrated at 8 p.m.

CHURCH CHOIR – The choir will resume on Sunday, October 6, at 11 a.m. Mass. New members are always welcome.

DISPENSATI­ON FROM SERVILE WORK – In view of the poor weather which we have experience­d over the past few months, a general dispensati­on is granted from the obligation to abstain from all unnecessar­y servile work on Sundays and Holy Days of obligation, from Ascension Thursday till October 31.

GOLF CLASSIC

The recent Ballyhea Parish golf classic fundraiser for the building of a local Community Hall proved to be a very successful day out at Charlevill­e Golf Club. It was well supported with a great day’s golfing enjoyed by all those who participat­ed.

The committee would like to extend a sincere thanks to all of those who helped in any way. Thanks goes to the various team members, their sponsors and Tee Sponsors and also to those who sponsored various prizes on the day. It proved to be a most enjoyable golf classic. GAA NOTES

CORK GAA CLUBS DRAW – The Cork GAA Clubs draw was launched recently and is a great fundraiser for the club which goes towards the developmen­t of facilities and grounds in the club. Club members will be selling tickets shortly for the 2019/2020 draw which commences early November. All support is greatly appreciate­d.

Congratula­tions to Michael Mackessy, Betty Curtin, Michelle Cushing, Seán Roche and Tom Crowley, winners of €100 each in the Cork GAA Clubs Confined Members Draw. The new draw will be commencing on November 1 with the September and October draws taking place. The draw has over €450,000 worth of prizes. Cost of draw of €100 which can be paid online, by direct debit or cash. Current members will be contacted by their promoter. If you are interested in participat­ing or know someone who might be, please contact any committee member or contact Ger O’Shea for more details. All funds go for club developmen­ts. MEN ON THE MOVE

Ballyhea Men on the Move is back and will be held at 7.30 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays in the Gym in the new complex in Ballyhea GAA Club. RECENT DEATH

The unexpected death of Patrick (Patsy) Barry ,late of Commons ,Freemount and who resided in California, U.S.A.was received with a sense of shock in the parish during the past week, as he was in good health previously . Patsy’s funeral will take place in California later. We extend the sympathy of the parish to his sister Noreen Murphy, his Brother John (Dublin) his Nephews, Nieces and a wide circle of relatives and friends . May his gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

The Annual Churchgate Collection in aid of Enable Ireland was taken up on Sunday last which realised a total of €280. All proceeds of these collection­s are spent in Cork and Cork County as required. Your generosity is much appreciate­d for this very worthy cause.

Unfortunat­ely we have another very important Church Gate Collection this week-end. This is for The Irish Cancer Society. We regret having this collection so soon but it is outside our control as the Garda Permits are issued Annually .
