AUTUMN STATIONS – The autumn Stations will commence in September. October 4, Ballinadrideen, Ballynoran, Coolcaum, Baallyroe and Dromin in the home of Denis and Geraldine Mac.

October 2, the General Station in the church for Pruntus, Ardskeagh, Ballylopin, Gurrane, Knightsgrove, Castlewrixon, Ballycosgry, Lisballyhea, Ballyhoura, Loughlea, Glantane, Newtown, Sorrell, Farran, Cooline, Milltown, Kiltass. Stations Masses will be celebrated at 8 p.m.
CHURCH CHOIR – The choir will resume on Sunday, October 6, at 11 a.m. Mass. New members are always welcome.
DISPENSATION FROM SERVILE WORK – In view of the poor weather which we have experienced over the past few months, a general dispensation is granted from the obligation to abstain from all unnecessary servile work on Sundays and Holy Days of obligation, from Ascension Thursday till October 31.
GOLF CLASSIC
The recent Ballyhea Parish golf classic fundraiser for the building of a local Community Hall proved to be a very successful day out at Charleville Golf Club. It was well supported with a great day’s golfing enjoyed by all those who participated.
The committee would like to extend a sincere thanks to all of those who helped in any way. Thanks goes to the various team members, their sponsors and Tee Sponsors and also to those who sponsored various prizes on the day. It proved to be a most enjoyable golf classic. The competition was very keen and competitive right up to the end and scores were remarkably close between all teams. golf classic prizewinners: First prize Finbar Halihan Christy Hanley, Martin O’Regan. CORK GAA CLUBS DRAW – The Cork GAA Clubs draw was launched recently and is a great fundraiser for the club which goes towards the development of facilities and grounds in the club. Club members will be selling tickets shortly for the 2019/2020 draw which commences early November. All support is greatly appreciated.
Congratulations to Michael Mackessy, Betty Curtin, Michelle Cushing, Seán Roche and Tom Crowley, winners of €100 each in the Cork GAA Clubs Confined Members Draw. The new draw will be commencing on November 1 with the September and October draws taking place. The draw has over €450,000 worth of prizes. Cost of draw of €100 which can be paid online, by direct debit or cash. Current members will be contacted by their promoter. Ballyhea Community Alert has successfully set up a Text Alert Network to immediately alert our community when an incident occurs. Prompt information to and from Gardaí deters criminal activity. MEN ON THE MOVE
Ballyhea Men on the Move is back and will be held at 7.30 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays in the Gym in the new complex in Ballyhea GAA Club. All ages (currently ranging from 30’s to 60’s) and all levels of fitness catered for, and participants from outside Ballyhea are very welcome. Please come and along and try it out. RECENT DEATH
The unexpected death of Patrick (Patsy) Barry ,late of Commons ,Freemount and who resided in California, U.S.A.was received with a sense of shock in the parish during the past week, as he was in good health previously . Patsy’s funeral will take place in California later. We extend the sympathy of the parish to his sister Noreen Murphy, his Brother John (Dublin) his Nephews, Nieces and a wide circle of relatives and friends . May his gentle Soul Rest in Peace.

The Annual Churchgate Collection in aid of Enable Ireland was taken up on Sunday last which realised a total of €280. All proceeds of these collections are spent in Cork and Cork County as required. Your generosity is much appreciated for this very worthy cause.
