Blackwater Valley Darts League gets up and running

THE Blackwater Valley Darts (BVD) League commenced on Friday night last.

The Bridge House travelled to Kilbrin Social Club and got off to a flyer with Gerry Black defeating Mike O’Connor 3-2 with Black taking out a 122 finish in the process.

Eddie O’Rourke defeated Paddy Mc Mahon 3-0. Kilbrin fought back with Pat Healy defeating Damian Carey 3-0 and Alex Mc Carthy defeating Jason Carey 3-1.

Steven O’Mahony defeated Mick Kennedy 3-1. Alan Mullane defeated Nicky Sherman 3-2. After the singles it was 3-3.

In the Doubles, Jerry Black and Steven O’Mahony defeated Mike O’Connor and Alan Mullane 3-1 while Alex Mc Carthy and Pat Healy defeated Eddie O’Rourke and Nicky Sherman 3-1.

Final score Kilbrin Social Club 4 – 4 Bridge House.

Horgan’s were at home to Maureen’s for their encounter. The home side took first blood with Chris Holmes defeating Patrick Angland 3-0. Klaus Richter defeated Bob Myers 3-2 to level it.

However, Horgan’s went up a gear and proceeded to win the next three with Adrian Holmes defeating Andrew Clarke 3-1, Robert Harrington defeating Jack Dillon 3-0 and Mick Dunlea defeating James Angland 3-0.

Peter O’Donovan pulled one back for Maureen’s when defeating Patrick Holmes 3-0, with the scoreline after the singles reading Horgan’s 4 – 2.

In the doubles Sean Dilworth and Peter O’Donovan overcame Adrian Holmes and Robert Harrington 3-2. While Chris Holmes and Mick Dunlea defeated Klaus Richter and David O’Brien 3-1.

Final Score Horgan’s 5 – 3 Maureen’s. Corkery’s made the trek to Kit Roches for their fixture. Corkery’s took the game to Kit Roches from the start and won the first five with Will O’Shea defeating Kevin Lenahan 3-1, Peter Heslin overcame Chris O’Toole 3-2, Tim O’Sullivan defeated Mark Lenahan 3-0, Stephen Connolly defeated Ciaran McCarthy 3-0 and Dave O’Leary defeating Tim Deady 3-1.

Kit Roches got one back with Aaron Ryan defeating Johnny Holland 3-2.

After the singles it was Kit Roches 1 – 5 Corkery’s.

In the doubles Kit Roches kept the pressure on, winning both doubles. Chris O’Toole and Kevin Lenahan defeated John Sheehan and Pa Lucey 3-0. Denis O’Sullivan and Tim Deady defeated Donal Cullinan and Stephen Connolly 3-1.

Final score was Kit Roches 3 – 5 Corkery’s. Next Friday’s fixtures are as follows: The Bridge House V. Kit Roches, Maureen’s V Corkery’s and Horgan’s V. Kilbrin Social Club.
