opened up a three point lead. Good play by Niall Hartnett worked well with Conor Russell with Hartnett taking the return pass and kicking a massive point.

In the 36th minute a Kilshannig free by Kieran Twomey was finished to the net by Jack Kearney as the Avondhu side moved double scores clear 1-7 to 0-5. Kilshannig were now very much in the ascendancy at midfield and in attack. Conor McMahon was fouled and Eanna O’Hanlon pointed the free.

Douglas never gave up. Conor Russell forced Gavin Creedon to save well, the rebound came to Alan O’Hare who was denied a goal scoring chance by Shane O’Riordan.

In the 41st minute Douglas had a point by Darragh Kelly. A foul on Kelly soon after led to a pointed free by Conor Russell. In the 47th minute Éanna O’Hanlon pointed a ‘45.

Kilshannig had their second goal two minutes later when Conor McMahon worked well for Jack Kearney who was denied by Douglas keeper David O’Keeffe.

The rebound went to the well placed Barry O’Shea who goaled and edged his side eight points clear 2-9 to 0-7. Douglas put in a huge last 10 minutes.

They were wide by Brian Hartnett before Conor Russell pointed a free. They had a goal in the 53rd minute when Niall Hartnett, James Holland and Darragh Kelly all worked hand passes to Daniel Harte who netted from close range. Good play by Joe Harte to Darragh Kelly led to a great James Holland point as the lead was down to a goal.

The equalising goal came in the 58th minute when Conor Russell finished off a five man attack. Kilshannig under pressure never panicked. They won some vital possession in defence and worked a good movement to Conor McMahon who was fouled and injured as he attempted to score.

The resultant free by Éanna O’Hanlon was the all important score. Kilshannig ran out victors by the narrowest of margins. They now meet either St Michaels or St Finbarrs in the county semi-final.
